9th Mechanical Innovative Design Competition for National College Student


From 20th Nov. to 22nd Nov. 2020, finals of the "9th Mechanical Innovative Design Competition for National College Student " was held at Southwest Jiaotong University. Four teams from Chongqing University (CQU) appeared in the finals and won the first prize. Particularly, "Multifunctional Smart Window System" was shortlisted for "China Excellent Design".

Trophies and Awards


Yifan Zhu, Chengxin Dai, Qixin Zeng, Dongming Han and Kezhe Zhu designed "Household Foldable Toilet Aid Device Based on Metamorphic Mechanism" under the guidance of Hong Ren and Yuanxi Sun. The work is a multi-functional & intelligent device installed on the closes tool which can not only help the elderly stand up by speaking to it after using toilet, but also can be manually folded easily by using metamorphic mechanism.

Group members of "Household Foldable Toilet Aid Device Based on Metamorphic Mechanism"


Instructed by Jing Liu, " Multifunctional Wheelchair & Bed for the Old " was designed by Junkai Shao, Songyou Lan, Chen Chen, Yiguo Liu, and Xiang Dai. The design embeds a set of invented metamorphoses based on plane linkages based on an electric wheelchair. The device not only has the general features of an electric wheelchair and bed, but also has special functions of assisting the elderly to sit up and stand up from the bed, as well as help the elderly to get in and out of the bed.

Under the guidance of Yonghong Chen and Hong Ren, "Home-used Intelligent Supporting Device for the Old" was designed by Changhong Jiang, Xingyu Deng, Dongming Han, Jun Li, and Jianbo Liu. The device is a mobile support device for the elderly based on machine vision and remote-control technology. The device realizes the sitting and rising of the elderly through a cam-link combined metamorphic mechanism, and uses a vertical double-slider linkage mechanism to realize the anti-rolling of the device.

Instructed by Hengbin Ren and Yang Luo, "Multifunctional Smart Window System" was designed by Wenxuan Xiao, Runpeng Deng, Haotian Ji, Quanzhi Li, and Yi Liu. The system can smartly percept different weather, to automatically adjust the position of window according to weather condition.
